I love BLT sandwiches, especially in the summer when tomatoes are fresh and plentiful. This BLT Salad showcases the flavors of that Classic American Sandwich Salad Style. I had some tomatoes to use up, finally the tomatoes in the garden have come to an end. Summer in Texas lasts longer than most places so hopefully summer is gone and we can start to enjoy some cooler weather now. Like I mentioned above I love BL T's, If you love them then you will like this salad. It's a nice change up from your usual dinner salad. We grilled some brats and beans, I have been wanting to make this salad ever since I saw the recipe, but I kept forgetting. I thought it would go perfect with our meal.
In the end I thought it turned out great, it was so easy to prepare and tasted really good. My oldest son thought the dressing was a bit sweet so you may want to use less sugar in the dressing, I used about a tablespoon and a half. So in the recipe below i only put one tablespoon. Other than that he said it was good. The original recipe called for Miracle Whip, but my husband and son both hate Miracle Whip. So I used a different dressing recipe i had used in a previous salad. I think the mayonnaise and the sour cream compliment each other nicely, I added the sugar for a bit of sweetness similar in miracle whip. So if you are looking for a different twist on a salad this would be perfect.

And...you are always welcome at my table, Thanksgiving or otherwise.
There's always room for one more.
I'll be making some cakes in a jar tomorrow. Can't wait.
