Goodness it's cold outside!!!! I was hoping we would get a bit of snow this year and this morning I was awakened to the most beautiful site. Snow!!!! The kids were so excited the first thing they wanted to do was go out and play. I have to say I don't blame them I have such wonderful memories growing up and having fun in the Nebraska snow with my brother.
My bother and I would grab our sleds and all the neighborhood kids would meet on the back hill. We had so much fun having snow ball fights and racing down that snowy hill. After all the fun we would meet up at one of our friends house so all of use could dry out our snow boots and warm up with some hot chocolate.
Have you ever had snow ice cream? It's so delicious and so easy to make. If you haven't you sure are missing out. I posted about this delicious treat last year around this same time.
It was such an exciting time because it was then that my children got their first taste of this yummy treat. Now today's snow fall doesn't even come close to last years record of 13 inches in one day, but you see here in Texas it does not snow that often so we always take what we can get.
I took the photo above this morning as soon as we awoke. I love fresh untouched snow because it looks so peaceful. We only got about 3 inches, but all that matters is that we got a little of the white stuff.
In fact it was just enough snow so we could make our favorite treat of snow ice cream. So today I am posting the recipe again because it is only fitting for today's winter weather.
The kids had so much fun preparing the snow cream all by themselves.

This is definitely a recipe I will share with my grandchildren. If we have sufficient snow yet this season, I may even make some and take it to my (Senior) parents who are still living and near by.
