Friday Night at our house is usually Pizza Night. I think having a simple meal to end a long busy work week is just what everyone needs. We enjoy pizza quite a bit, but can always afford to order delivery.
So what's the best alternative to pizza delivery? Making it yourself! If you think making your own pizza is hard, it's really not. Once you get the hang of it, it's really pretty easy. My kids love to help when it comes to pizza making, so don't be afraid to get the family involved.
When it comes to pizza making I like to keep it simple, but delicious. We do like to experiment with different flavors, but nothing beats a good old pepperoni and cheese pizza.

To have a good pizza I think you need to start with a great crust. Thick, chewy and crispy is my pizza crust of choice. To achieve that I depend on my No Fail Pizza Crust recipe. If you're lucky enough to find a good pizza crust recipe than stick with it.
On our last pizza night I tried a new recipe for a CopyKat Pizza Hut Pan Pizza. I couldn't wait to share this recipe, because the pizza was out of this world good. The crust was thick, chewy and crispy just the way I like it.
I did make one change to the original recipe. Instead of using their recipe for pizza crust I used my own. I'm just more comfortable using my no fail recipe so that's what I went with. I also decreased the oil from 3 oz per pan to only 2 tablespoon per pan.
I just couldn't bring myself to adding that much oil. No worries though because the end result was a perfectly crispy crust. If you're a big fan of Pizza Huts Pan style pizza then this recipe is a must to try.

Lets get started and I can show you just how easy this pizza was to throw together. Start by making the pizza dough and then knead on a lightly floured surface. Knead until the dough is no longer sticky. Place the pizza dough into a oiled bowl and turn the dough to coat.
Cover the bowl with a towel or plastic wrap. Let the dough rests in a warm place for 20 minutes.
Divide dough into two balls. In two 9″ cake pans add enough oil to cover each pan making sure to spread the oil evenly.
Using a rolling pin, roll out each dough ball to about a 9″ circle. Place in cake pans. Cover each pan with plastic wrap that has been sprayed with non stick spray. Let rise in a warm place for about 45 minutes - 1 hour.
Pre-heat oven to 450 degrees. Spritz the edges of the pizza crust with butter spray. Spoon 1/3 cup pizza sauce on each pizza and spread to within 1 inch of edge. Distribute about one cup of shredded mozzarella cheese on each pizza. Add your toppings of choice (pepperoni, canadian bacon, veggies, olives, cooked sausage or ground beef, etc.) Top with additional mozzarella cheese (about 1/2 cup).

Slice and Enjoy.
