DIY Butterfly Candy Treat Bags perfect for Easter, birthdays or any holiday occasion.
Easter is right around the corner, so today I'm sharing a cute DIY candy craft perfect to add to your kids Easter baskets. My family loves SweeTarts candies, so I was excited to partner with Nestle to create an easy and fun Easter craft featuring their Limited Edition SweeTart Easter Candies.
I had two candy crafts in mind, but needed to check out the candy packaging to settle on which idea. Once I had the candy I decided on these adorable Butterfly Candy Treat Bags. These easy Butterfly Treat Bags are perfect for holidays, classroom parties or birthday parties. All the kids will love this fun edible treat.
This candy craft is super simple to make, so get your kids involved. They will have a blast painting and decorating their butterfly's and filling their treat bags to their liking. I used a combination of paint and colored pom poms to decorate each of the butterflies.
I filled the treat bags with a variety of the Nestle's Limited - Edition SweeTarts Candies, Soft Bites Bunnies, Chicks and Ducks, Sour Bunny Gummies and Soft and Chewy Ropes. I also love that the SweeTarts candies are free of artificial flavors and colors, which you don't find in most candies anymore. 💮 🐤
- Wooden Clothes Pins
- Pastel Colored Acrylic Paints
- Small Brushes or Q-Tips
- Small Colored Pom Poms
- Ziplock Zipper Snack Size Bags
- Assorted Nestle Easter SweeTarts Candy
- Pipe Cleaners
- Googly Eyes
- Tacky Glue or Hot Glue
Start by painting and decorating the clothespins however you want (let the kids have fun with this part). Let the clothespins dry for at least one hour or overnight (hooked onto a hanger) before assembling.
When the clothes pins are dry glue on pom poms (if using) and two googly eyes onto each clothespin. Cut one pipe cleaner in half, bend and glue on the back and top of each clothespin (I glued them on one side of the clothes pin on the inside where it opens). Bend or curl the pipe cleaners on each end to make antennas.
Securely attach one clothespin to each candy bag. If using snack size zipper bags just fold the zipper top over and attach the clothespin to the bag and you're done.
These Butterfly Treat Bags are simple to put together and so adorable when finished.
