My Texas Table - Our Best Jam, Jelly & Preserve Recipes

Happy Tuesday friends!!!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful day and a nice summer thus far? It's Newsletter time again and in this month's issue of My Texas Table it's all about preserving summer fruits by making homemade jams, jelly or preserves!

There's nothing better than homemade jam or jelly. Once you start making your own, you'll ditch the store-bought stuff all together. Plus homemade jam and jellies are a great way to preserve and enjoy the flavor of summer throughout the year.

One of the best parts of summer is the abundance of fresh fruit from your local farmers market or backyard garden. We're lucky enough to have a few fruit trees in our backyard, so once the garden season starts to slow down then canning season begins!!!

It's definitely a labor of  love, but so worth it in the end when we have homemade jams and preserves to enjoy throughout the year. So today I'm sharing our favorite recipes for jam, jelly, preserves and butters, so you too can enjoy the goodness of summer all year long. 🍓🍎🍑🍒

This is the recipe or recipes that is getting the most views on the blog.
This No Bake Patriotic Cake was the most viewed recipe on the blog last month. Have you tried it? This recipe starts with store bought pound cake, strawberry glaze, and a creamy whipped cream and cream cheese topping. Fresh blueberries and chopped strawberries are added to create a festive red, white and blue look.

Recipes that I found online (not mine) that I can't wait to share with you.
Last week I came across this Smothered Beef & Bean Burrito Bake and these Texas Sheet Cake Cookies while scrolling through Face book. I love a good Texas Sheet Cake, so these bite size sheet cake cookies look perfect for my sweet tooth. My family also loves burritos, so I can't wait to try the smothered beef and bean burrito bake. Seasonal or featured recipe that I think you'll like.
This months featured recipe are these Crispy Buttermilk Chicken Strips from the Pioneer Woman.  These chicken strips get their extreme crunchiness by drizzling buttermilk into the flour mixture before dredging and frying. This is one of my family's favorite chicken recipes.  Click here to view the full recipe.

If you are interested in gardening, come take a peek at we planted this year in our backyard vegetable garden. 🏡🌱 You can also see how our fruit trees are coming along. We have already harvested so many things and just yesterday we picked 61 pounds of peaches off our peach tree, so I can see a whole lot more canning in my near future.
